Our Company

Ainsworth-Benning Construction, A Journey Group Company, has served Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana and North Dakota for over 65 years. The company has a home office in Spearfish, SD, and an office in Dickinson, ND. We employ 75-175 workers depending on the season. Ainsworth-Benning has a rich history of successful projects across the region. Ainsworth-Benning is involved in construction of commercial and industrial buildings, as well as the heavy highway and land development industries throughout this region.

Our company has an exemplary record of completing projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of owners. Our project team has earned various awards over the years including Construction Industry Center Master Craftsmanship, American Buildings Design Build, South Dakota Transportation Quality, GCC Dacotah Excellence in Concrete and various safety awards on both the state and national level of the Associated General Contractors. Ainsworth-Benning is bonded through Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland. All projects have been completed without the assistance of the surety.

Due to our geographical location and the rural background of our personnel, most of our workload is delivered in rural communities. We enjoy and value the relationships we have developed and maintained. The hardest thing for us about fostering and developing the close relationships on our rural projects is the reality of leaving those communities for the next project. We take pride in the fact that we have been able to work so seamlessly and cohesively with smaller communities.

Over the past years, our team has grown and expanded its capabilities, but one thing that has never changed is our dedication to delighting the client.
