Ainsworth-Benning chosen as TMone Construction Manager

The city of Spearfish has taken the next steps to construct a new building at the site of the collapsed TMone building. Ainsworth-Benning Construction, Inc. was approved as the construction manager at risk (CMAR) contractor for a new building at the TMone location in the industrial park. The city council unanimously approved the proposal Monday, after hearing from Mayor Dana Boke that the committee reviewed three potential contractors: Dean Kurtz, Scull Construction, and Ainsworth-Benning. “All were very, very good,” she said. The committee, consisting of Mayor Dana Boke, City Building Official Tom Paisley, City Engineer Kyle Mathis, City Finance Officer Dave Dutton, and Public Works Public Works Administrator Cheryl Johnson, Spearfish Economic Development Executive Director Bryan Walker, and Councilmen Dave Baker and Travis Geppert, interviewed and ranked the candidates on background, past performance, workload, and leadership team, among other things, and based on the score sheets, they recommended Ainsworth-Benning.
